What a busy lesson! Quizlet done, which many of you should be very pleased with. Make sure that you continue to spend the time revising the terminology needed for section A of the examination. We also continued making notes on the episode of HIGNFY - including the two new audience theories - and even managed to get an examination response written towards the end of the lesson. I will mark these responses and get feedback to you as soon as possible. All of the content has now b sen delivered so you should be looking forward to 5-6 weeks of examination practise - YAY!
Today we watched a further episode of HIGNFY and analysed it for audience pleasures. This was SERIES 47 EPISODE 4. I also introduced you to the exam resources page and the useful stuff that was contained on it including note taking sheets, clips and videos that can be used for revision. The button can be found on the right hand side of this blog page at the top. We also looked at two noes audience theories - namely Aristotle's Superiority Theory (where we laugh at people because we feel better than they are) and Immanuel Kant's Incongruity Theory (where laughter is caused by events/behaviour not fitting in with how we expect things to be). Hopefully you have gathered enough evidence from the episode to use these in a response that is going to be written net lesson.
Cover work April 7TH 2014TASK * Use the VAULT page button to the right to access the two episodes of The Big Bang Theory. * Watch the second episode that we have not watched - Series 4 Episode 1 The Robotic Manipulation. * Download the notes sheet that is attached to this blog and use Preview to fill it out with examples from the episode. You might want to save this document unedited as well as it does have some notes for the pervious episode that we have looked at. * Be ready to discuss these examples next lesson when we start to write a response to question 4b.
Today we applied some of the scheduling strategies that we have been studying to the scheduling of one of our case study programmes. The Padlet that you have created will be very useful for you because it will provide you with all of the information that you will need to write a response to one of the Section B questions. Make sure that you start revising this information.
This lesson we continued to explore the world of TV scheduling, why it is important and we covered some of the strategies that channels use in order to get us to watch their channels for longer. You should have started a Padlet gathering this information together and included examples of each technique along with an explanation of why it might help a programme to become more successful.
